Finance manager (m/f/d)

full-time (100%)

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a worldwide provider for sustainable development which assists the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation.
RegioTrade – Enhancing Regional Economic Integration in the Western Balkans through Trade supports economic integration both within the Western Balkans and with the EU. Co- financed by BMZ and the EU, the project focuses on reducing trade barriers, streamlining customs procedures, and facilitating the free movement of goods and services across the region. Additionally, RegioTrade aims to improve the investment climate, contributing to sustainable economic growth and regional stability.

Your tasks:
  • Ensuring that the financial administration of the project operates in accordance with GIZ and EU standard procedures and the contractual obligations arising from the EU Contribution Agreement.
  • Support in financial planning and monitoring.
  • Verification of costs against contracts, EU and GIZ regulations and total amount of spending.
  • Effectively coordinating with the project staff, the staff of the relevant departments in the country office, GIZ Head Office and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Support in project financial reporting.
  • Support in the preparation of the yearly scheduled external audits, and other external and internal audits.
  • Support in Costs per Output Monitoring and Forecast (KOMP).
Your qualifications/competences:
  • BA in accounting, financial management or auditing or similar area.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a comparable position, preferably in the financial management of EU-funded projects.
  • Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. Outlook), experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Strictly confidential and responsible handling of data and information.
  • Attention to detail and strict adherence to financial rules and guidelines.
  • Good knowledge of English and German.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Highly committed to work in a regional, multi-national team and willingness to occasionally travel within the region and EU countries.
  • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed.
