The United States Peace Corps seeks a Training Manager (TM) to provide overall management and supervision of Peace Corps Albania and Montenegro's training programs for Trainees (pre-service training) and Volunteers (in-service trainings and other training events) as well as for staff development training events. The functions include leading the design of effective training programs; creating effective learning environments for Trainees, Volunteers and staff; planning, directing, supervising and monitoring training of trainers, pre-service training programs and in-service training events as appropriate; coordinating the integration of training components effectively into training programs; helping to assure the safety and security of Trainees and Volunteers; supervising training staff members as appropriate; and reporting on training programs.

The TM position will be based in Tirana, Albania, and will serve Peace Corps both in Albania and Montenegro. 

Qualifications and Evaluation Criteria
Candidates must meet all Requirements. Candidates will be further evaluated for exceeding the minimum requirements, as well as additional qualifications presented.

Requirements
  • Education: University degree in a field a field of study related to the position. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience and a relevant graduate degree.
  • Experience: + 5 years of related work with relevant government agencies, not-for-profit organizations, or private businesses. Experience in designing, organizing, and delivering training programs, particularly to diverse people from a variety of backgrounds, using non-formal education techniques. It is preferred for TM to have experience in preparing and implementing training budgets.
  • Language Proficiency: Required fluency in English and Albanian, both spoken and written. It is also preferrable for the TM to speak and write in Montenegrin.
  • Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills including Word processing and Excel spreadsheet programs.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to maintain a clean background check/security badge.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills, intercultural competence, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility related skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthetize, interpret, and apply regulations.
  • Willingness to take the initiative; and has excellent teamwork skills.
