Finance Coordinator 

Chemonics International Inc. seeks a Finance Coordinator for the UK Government-funded Western   Balkans   Rule   of   Law   Initiative:   (WBROLI). The WBROLI   Finance Coordinator will report to the Operations and Finance Manager and will provide support to the Operations and Finance Manager for day-to-day tasks, ensuring financial compliance with local laws, Chemonics corporate and HMG donor requirements. This position will be based in Montenegro. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about finance and accounting.

The Finance Coordinator will be based in Podgorica, Montenegro, but will provide support for the programme across the Western Balkans. We are looking for people who have a good eye for detail and are well-organized.
 
  • The   principal    duties    and   responsibilities    (essential    functions)    of   the Finance Coordinator are set out as below: 
  • Enter and review accounting transactions into local and global accounting systems
  • Review team members and consultants expense reports in line with local and client requirements
  • Supervise the work tasks of Finance assistant, including quality assuring work and supporting their professional development.
  • Review of monthly timesheets, leave balance and preparation of payroll transactions to employees and consultants.
  • Maintain systematic and organised physical and electronic finance files
  • Coordination and preparation of annual financial reports in line with Montenegrin legislation
  • Conduct regular reviews of the finance files
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable local labour and taxation laws
  • Wire transfer preparation
  • Coordination of the financial forecast with Operations Programme Coordinator and Senior Programme associate
  • Support in preparation of monthly financial reports to project management
  • Contact point for internal/external audit
  • IT focal point across both project offices
  • Liaison with other Chemonics office in terms of payments/timesheets and contracting.
  • Perform bank reconciliation procedures and processes.
  • Support the Operations team in complex procurement processes.
  • Regular update of Procurement and Payment tracker in coordination with Operations team.
  • Supervise petty cash and check the monthly balance according to the project’s petty cash policy.
  • Perform any other appropriate tasks that support the overall project, as assigned by the Operations and Finance Manager or Team Leader
Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration or a similar discipline required
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant work experience
  • Experience working in accounting firm/international organization or on a UK government or other donor-funded project, preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Able to exercise confidentiality and a high level of professionalism
  • English fluency required
