Medical Technician

About Job:
To provide high quality, patient-focused health care services, to provide first response medical assistance when needed, to discuss patient symptoms and concerns, to provide advise in the realm of professional knowledge and experience, performs first-hand examinations to help diagnose medical problems, to assist the patient in communication with the licensed doctors, and executes a treatment plan when necessary in order to ensure well being of the patients.
 
I.    Key Responsibilities:
A.     Provision of health-care services
  • Collects patient detailed health history
  • Performs physical examinations, diagnostic tests, consultations with new patients 
  • Recommends and,where feasible, executes various tests, analyses, results, reports and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition in a timely manner to determine appropriate treatment and follow up
  • Provides referrals to the patient for specialist doctors to further address patient condition
  • Recommends further treatment options or future appointments if needed
  • Reads and interprets patient test results to help the diagnose of health problems
  • Ensures patient records are kept up to date including test results, immunizations, condition changes, etc.
  • Accurately documents all patient care activities and evaluates the outcome of patient care
  • Provide after-care/ongoing care information and resources to patients and their families
B.    Emergency Assistance
  • Ensures the patients are stable until first aid arrives
  • Implements first aid techniques if needed
  • Communicates with Emergency unit staff regarding condition of the patient
  • Ensures most efficient transfer of the patient into a health institution
C.    Education of clients
  • Counsels and educates patients and their families on treatment plans
  • Promotes health by educational instruction as well as advising patients concerning diet, exercise and hygiene
  • Counsels on methods for prevention of certain diseases
  • Researches ways to improve healthcare processes and improve patient outcomes, by implementing processes, procedures, issuing guidelines, measures for prevention, etc.
II.    Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum Medical High School Diploma
  • Driver’s license B
  • Fluent in Montenegrin and English, both written and verbal
Job-Specific Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of how to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
  • Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical conditions and interpret findings
