BIRN Seeks Correspondent from Montenegro

The Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, BIRN, is a network of non-governmental organisations promoting freedom of speech, human rights, and democratic values in Southeast Europe. With local organisations across the Balkans and an editorial presence in other countries, BIRN is dedicated to empowering people to access their rights, providing accurate information and fostering democratic processes.  BIRN Hub is an umbrella entity that coordinates the work of the BIRN Network. While each country organisation addresses domestic needs, BIRN Hub, registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina, implements regional programmes.
BIRN Hub’s Correspondent from Montenegro will have a chance to work in a highly interactive and dynamic environment with one of the biggest media and NGO networks in the region. Due to the fast and continuing growth of the Network and the implementation of various projects, we are looking for a hardworking, dedicated, motivated professional to join our team.

Job Description
The Correspondent from Montenegro will follow up and report on daily events, production of analysis, interviews, features and photo or video stories on main events in the country (politics, economy, environment, culture, lifestyle and other topics). He/She will contribute to producing country-based and cross-border investigative stories, develop new ideas and topics for the, and maintain appropriate contacts with government offices, various local and international organisations and others necessary to ensure correct execution of duties.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g. journalism, politics, literature) and at least three (3) years of professional experience. Excellent written and spoken English required. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, open and hardworking, familiar with online reporting, interested in web and mobile journalism and eager to further develop their own skills on the job and through bother types of training.
