 Safety and Security Manager

Role Purpose:

  • Establish and implement security and safety policies and procedures, regulations and service provision of third-party providers to ensure the environment is safe for Lustica Bay guests, customers, employees and the wider Lustica Bay community.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Security & Safety Services

  • Provides strategic input & insight into the Security& Safety medium & long-term service provision and technical security plans within the Lustica Bay destination, including all subsidiary & affiliate companies.
  • Plans and manages the delivery of the Security Operating Plan, including the establishment and implementation of service levels, subsequent scheduling and allocating of activities to internal and externally contracted resources.
  • Plans and manages the provision of security services to meet the needs of day to day requirements, including ad hoc events, seminars, conferences and VIP protection to pre-approved service standards.
  • Ensures the ongoing safety of all sites and assets, including beaches within the destination, Hotels, destination assets and Head Office facilities.
  • Plans and manages the delivery against all approved Security Plans for the Town Association, Lustica Development AD, subsidiaries and affiliate companies.
  • Establishes and manages all disaster recovery, risk management, contingency planning and emergency management associated with the Lustica Bay destination.
  • Undertakes risk assessment of all Lustica Development AD, subsidiary & affiliate sites and assets to identify requirements in order to minimise risks.
  • Manages the effective and ongoing training of subordinate security professionals or other organization members in security rules and procedures.
  • Ensures the investigation, assessment and resolution of security breaches.
  • Conduct physical examinations of property to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
  • Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols.
  • Ensures the set-up, management and analysis of all relevant reports and metrics.

B. Health & Safety Environment

  • Manages the creation and delivery of the Health and Safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines, following instructions to ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and safety standards.
  • Helps build a safety culture, through the delivery of the approved Health & Safety program for the entire development in Lustica Bay, including all work areas, residential, retail and public areas, marina, beaches and construction sites, in support of the Destination Management Strategy.
  • Develops and reviews appropriate Health & Safety training and presentations, including accident prevention for staff and vendors, including occupational, non-occupational and fire safety.
  • Assists Functional & Business Heads in enforcing safety regulations and codes through ad hoc and annual inspections of workplaces, remedial training and further briefings to ensure full understanding and engagement.
  • Responsible for the planning and implementation of safety accident, fire prevention, and occupational safety and health program.
  • Ensures accurate recording of accident reports in a timely, complete, and accurate manner. Maintains administrative control of records related to safety and health programs. Reports on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
  • Visit job sites to conduct safety audits on environment, personnel, equipment, materials and operations.
  • Follows protocols to ensure the correct investigation of accidents or incidents to discover cases and developing measures to prevent recurrences, analyzing accident reports and injury case studies to develop preventive measures.

C. Budgetary Control

  • Evaluates and proposes the Security & Safety budgets, then manages budgetary expenditure, predicted variances and supplying advice on all security related transactions, including third party service provisions.

D. Policy & SOP Frameworks

  • Develops and implements all SOPs for the Security & Safety Department, ensuring effective roll-out internally and externally.
  • Manages the effective development of a security & safety conscious culture, including advertised processes, templates and records.
  • Trains subordinate security professionals or other organization members in security & security rules and procedures, focusing on ensuring high standards of customer care and discretion.

E. People Management

  • Undertakes monthly 1-2-1s with staff and third-party providers to review operational performance, provide regular feedback and development support.
  • Supports the Annual Performance Development Review process for staff by providing performance related feedback, undertaking performance reviews on a six-monthly basis and completing all supporting PDR documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Desirable University Degree in a relevant safety or security related topic
  • Valid driver’s license “B” category

Job-Specific Experience:

  • 8 years of experience (or equivalent) in a senior security management position, to include managing projects and budgets, developing plans, implementing improvements, etc.
  • 3 years experience (or equivalent) in emergency & disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • 3 years of supervisory and people management experience or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
