Hotel Lazure has advertised a position for candidates interested in the position:
STEWARD
BASIC FUNCTION:
- To represent the highest standard of excellence in kitchen cleanliness and organization.
RELATIONSHIP:
- Reports directly to and communicates with the Sous Chef on all pertinent matters.
- Co-ordinates with his colleagues to ensure service is delivered in a smooth and effective manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide efficient, expedient and courteous service to the guests leading to a total guest and company satisfaction.
- Operates and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor.
- Ensures all equipment, tools and ware are clean, sanitized and in good working order.
- Inspects, pulls, and stacks cleaned items, sends soiled items back for re-scrubbing and re-washing.
- Receives deliveries, stores perishables properly, and rotates stock.
- Assists with inventory.
- Strain/change deep fry oil as required.
- Cleans and sanitizes all food storage areas, walk in fridges, freezers, ovens, freestanding hot and cold boxes and dry storage cupboards.
- Cleans filters and hoods.
- Cleans and sanitizes loading dock, councils rubbish containers and all rubbish bins from food production and services areas.
- Disposes glasses and other recyclables in special containers.
- Removes stains from china and cutlery as required.
- Polishes chafing dishes for banquets and other functions and prepare carving stations as required.
- Prepares buffet before service and clean after service.
- Keep all equipment in the Steward's area in good condition.
- Is responsible minded for the breakage and loss of the items.
- Coordinates with other personnel.
- Follows the department standards.
- Complies with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Attends department meeting and training when requested.
- Is always clean and properly groomed on duty, according to hotel policy.
- Performs all duties other than above requested by the Executive chef, Sous Chef and Hotel Manager.
